Meet the Pixies - Say Hi to Carole

You probably now know a few members of the Molke team quite well (a few of us are a bit less camera shy than others!) but there are other key characters working very hard behind the scenes to keep this bra revolution ticking along. We had a wee chat with Carole to learn a bit more about the production side of Molke and what it's like to be one of the longest serving Pixies!

Hi Carole, can you tell us a bit about your role and how you came to work for Molke?

Hello! I’m the Production Supervisor here at Molke. My role is to keep an eye on the cutting room and the sewing room, assist the machinists and check the fabric and finished garments. I help plan production and make sure we are making enough bras to keep up with demand!

I started as a machinist at Molke just over 2 years ago right at the beginning, alongside Kasia who is still with us too. I saw an advert for the job and I knew I had to go for it because it was a dream job to be able to sit and sew all day. My role has changed as Molke has grown so I don’t get to sew as much as I used to but I still make things at home.

What did you do before you came to work here?

I was a Service Advisor in a garage, I had always worked in garages before coming to Molke. It’s definitely different from what I do now!

What’s your favourite part of being a part of the Molke team?

Definitely the people, amazing people. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and hard working and it’s such a colourful happy workplace! It’s also amazing to see all the great products being made from scratch in front of us. It makes me so proud to have seen where we came from and where we are going in the future.

Do you find anything challenging about the job?

We are still only a small team and Molke has grown a lot over the last two years so it can be a challenge to keep the stock room filled at times. The machinists are incredible though and work so hard to keep up with demand!

What’s your favourite Molke design and what is your absolute dream print?

It has to be the Flamingos print. The colour on it is just lush! My dream print would probably be something with cats or kittens on because I love cats!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I sew! I make a lot of clothes for my grandchildren and sometimes I make bits and bobs for members of staff. I made some lovely wee bandanas for Alfie’s dogs a couple of months ago using Molke scraps. We hate to waste anything here! I do like to relax by watching a bit of TV as well.

Do you have a favourite TV show?

I absolutely love 24. I have them all on DVD and I can watch them over and over again. I also enjoy murder mysteries like Midsummer Murders. I like trying to work out who did it but I never guess it right. I am not a fan of horror though… no way!

Do you have anything you would like to say to the wonderful Molke customers?

I think just a big thank you for all the support over the last few years. It’s great that so many of you have joined us on this journey and that you share it so enthusiastically with others. We are excited for what’s to come!
